twice a week for 75 minutes each.
At a glance: Applied statistics, consulting training. Written and oral communication skills emphasized. Ethical aspects. Practical experience with synthetic and real data sets. Simulated and client-facing scenarios.
Use of statistical software packages is required. The software packages, expected to be free/open source, will be specified by the instructor. Basic proficiency or working knowledge of statistical software packages, such as R or python, is expected.
Students are required to attend lectures and class discussions each week. Students will need to complete homework assignments individually, one round of mock consulting project in groups, and one round of real client project in groups. To center class discussions, there will be a list of topics we cover weekly, e.g. communication, what happens before data, what happens after data.

As a general guideline, you can consider the following partial list: MATH 563, MATH 564, MATH 574, STAT 514, MATH 483/567, (CS 422 or CS 579), (CS 584 or MATH 569), (DS 451 or CSP 571). It is a good idea to have at least two of the courses be "Math" or "Stat".
